Project Overview

An executive search and leadership advisory firm recently underwent a Workday and Adaptive Planning integration while simultaneously experiencing significant staff turnover, including the departure of their Director of FP&A and other junior finance staff. As a result, they needed a trusted partner to provide accurate monthly financial reports for their various operating groups. 

DLC was chosen by the client due to our extensive expertise in Adaptive Planning and proven track record of quickly developing customized financial reporting solutions. 

Business Challenge

The loss of key finance personnel, combined with an ongoing integration, created a reporting gap and hindered the company’s ability to deliver the financial visibility required for effective decision-making.  

Without established reports from their new system, the client struggled to track financial performance at both the global and group level, impacting their ability to manage day-to-day operations. 

Approach

To address this, DLC stepped in to develop a comprehensive set of financial reports within Adaptive Planning. Leveraging experience with Adaptive’s Office Connect Excel Add-On, our team began by thoroughly understanding the client’s organizational structure and general ledger setup.  

We then designed and built customized financial reports in Excel, ensuring alignment with previous reporting standards by reconciling against historical data from the past three fiscal years. 

Results

With our support, the client successfully generated a complete monthly reporting package using Adaptive Planning. These reports, now tailored to meet the unique requirements of each operating group and country, restored visibility into financial performance across the organization.  

Although reconciliation was delayed due to limited client resources, the final reports met expectations and positioned the client to continue leveraging their new system effectively. Additionally, our team remains available for ongoing support as needed.
